Salzgitter Mannesmann International is the trading arm of the Salzgitter AG Group, one of Europe’s largest steel producers, with approximately 25,000 employees and 80 companies, most of which are based in Germany. The Group’s headquarters are located in Salzgitter, about an hour’s drive from Hanover
The cooperation between APM and Salzgitter Mannesmann International primarily focuses on the project business, covering supplies of welded pipes and hot induction bends for pipeline projects, as well as plates and beams for offshore applications such as oil & gas platforms and wind farms
APM – SALZGITTER: A HISTORY WITH DEEP ROOTS
Eberhard Hill, founder of APM, took his first professional steps within the Salzgitter Group (then Preussag) in the late 1950s and early 1960s
In 1961, he moved to Milan on behalf of Salzgitter to open and lead the local branch, a role he held until the late 1960s. The paths of Hill and Salzgitter then diverged, only to cross again 30 years later when Salzgitter International (later Salzgitter Mannesmann International) and APM signed their first representation agreement in 1995
Today, APM serves as the agent for Italy of Salzgitter Mannesmann International, the trading arm of the Salzgitter AG Group
